Those who love God will naturally love the Church!
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
It is impossible to love God and not love His church that He Himself established (Mat. 16:18) and purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28). Anything God established for our wellbeing and spiritual growth (Eph. 4:11-16) should be important to those who love Him.
Acts 20:28 tells us how valuable is the Church in the eyes of God. It’s as valuable as the precious, divine blood that Christ shed on the cross, which has the power to wash away your sins forever. That’s pretty valuable! Think about all Christ suffered to shed His blood on the cross. How valuable is the blood of Christ to you? How valuable is the church, which He purchased with His own blood, to you? What does it say about you when something as valuable as the blood of Christ, is not important to you?
The church is the body of Christ (Col. 1:18). That’s indisputable.
Therefore, to love the Church is equivalent with loving Jesus and vice-versa.
Acts 2:46-47 “And they, continuing DAILY with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
The first New Testament believers loved the Lord and one another so much that they met EVERY DAY in the Temple to worship Him and have fellowship in the things of God. The more you grow in your love for Jesus, the more you’ll love the Church. The more you love God the more you’ll love His family and therefore the more fellowship you’ll want to have with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
God’s will for EVERY Christian is to GO TO CHURCH! Not to forsake it. That’s Hebrews 10:25.
Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
We should want MORE Church not less. We should want MORE of Jesus, not less.
